First Kiss of 2015

One of my favorite New Years Eve traditions is grabbing a new lip color to kiss my boyfriend (now fiance) at midnight! This year I decided to go with NARS lipstick, I have been obsessed with this brand these days! I couldn't make up my mind on a shade so I grabbed three, oops! Hopefully I can narrow it down to one before heading out tonight. Do you have any NYE traditions, if so what are they?!

Enjoy the rest of 2014 & see you all in 2015! xo

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Gift Guide for your Bestie, all under $50!

Tis the season for holiday gift guides! I can't believe how quickly Christmas is approaching, it is seriously right around the corner (just a week away, what?!) I still have so many people that I need to shop for and running out of time! If you are a procrastinator like myself these gift guides really do come in handy! Here are some of my absolute favorite items that are totally worthy of spoiling your BFF with this holiday season (& maybe yourself too) without breaking the bank. These goodies are all under $50!

DIY: Kate Spade Inspired Polka Dot Canvas

You can all thank my little sister Jillian for this DIY project. This is a fun, easy and mess-free way to add a little sparkling touch to your home, especially for the holidays!

Prep Time: Approximately 30-45 minutes.

What you will need:
  • Plain white canvas, size of your choice depending on how small or large you would like your canvas to be.
  • Elmer's Craft Bond Spray Adhesive, this stuff is amazing.
  • At least 3 different textured paper sheets in the color(s) of your choice. I used three different textures of gold, I think it would be fun to add in silver or red for this time of year!
  • A circle punch. I used a 1 inch punch this time around, but would love to try out the 2 inch.

Use the hole punch to cut out the circles. You can cut as many as you like, my sister and I cut all three sheets and were able to complete two canvases with them.
Use your spray adhesive to spray on the back of the circles. I would do a dozen or so at a time to speed up the process use a newspaper or other material to lay the cut outs on while spraying, you don't want to get this glue anywhere that it doesn't belong!)
Now is the fun part, placing the circles on the canvas! I bunched lot towards the bottom of the canvas and made the space between circles more sparse as they move to the top of the canvas.
Once you are done, it is all ready to be hung up! Have fun! xo

Cosmetic Holiday Gift Guide

I know I have been MIA from the blogging world the past few weeks. Every minute of my time has been consumed with wedding planning, some transitioning at work, and listening to 1989 on repeat, seriously. Now that the Holiday season is pretty much in full swing I thought it would be nice to come back to share with you some of my favorite cosmetic gift sets! Is it just me or are they incredible this year?

For starters my favorite go-to gift of all time are the Naked palettes. On a personal note, I do not believe in wearing eyeshadow that is not Urban Decay. The pigment, texture, color variety, blendability & long-lasting crease-free wear is what makes these shadows incomparable to all others. The Naked palettes are made up of the most everyday wearable shades in colors ranging from light to dark, and matte to shimmer. What isn't to love?! Your bestie deserves this, and you do too!

Another favorite of mine is The Real Steal from Benefit Cosmetics. I've become pretty addicted to They're Real lash & liner, and this duo is a serious steal for the price.

Tarte has recently stolen my heart. I love the quality of their products and they come in the prettiest of packaging. This lipstick set? uhm,YES please!! This is definitely on my wish-list this year.
The Petite Treats 12 Days deluxe set is another favorite of mine that features some of their best sellers, this is an amazing value and a great way to experiment and add some new staples to your collection. What holiday gift sets have you been craving this season?

Currently Craving: Snake Print & Plum

Snake Print & Plum

I never thought that I would be into snake print, but lately I cannot get enough of it. I find myself replacing my leopard flats for my snake ones more often than not these days. The pattern is so simple and I love that the tones are muted... it goes with just about everything! I decided to share a few of my current snake patterned favorites along with my favorite color of the season: plum!

Currently Craving: Brown Lipstick

Currently Craving: Brown Lipstick

Lipstick is the runner up when it comes to my favorite beauty products, right after mascara of course! I love that it comes in infinite options. I have become quite adventurous when it comes to trying out new colors...whenever I get the inspiration to try a new shade I usually play it safe by trying out a drugstore brand before investing in a more expensive brand. Maybelline has a great variety of choices for a super low price, they are usually my go-to when it comes to giving that new shade a try!

I was seriously obsessing over purples the last couple of months, my latest color craving is surprisingly brown! I think it's just my love for autumn taking over! I suggest giving "Secret Agent" by Lorac a try!

Currently Craving: Floral Dresses & Booties

With summer weather still in full-swing for the next couple of weeks and all your favorite stores stocking up on their autumn gear. it can be a little difficult to halt your urge to buy every jacket, sweater, and pair of boots that you see! I still have so many dresses that I did not even get a chance to wear this summer (so many with tags still attached), luckily the weather is still warm enough to wear dresses without tights and I encourage everyone to do so! Before we know it we will all be bundled up in countless layers and wishing for warmer days.

I've been pairing my favorite toned-down dresses with booties. Florals are my absolute favorite pattern and lately I have been adoring more muted floral prints-perfect for this time of year. They are easy to dress up or down for any occasion!
